What is uss truxtun cgn 35?

The USS Truxtun (CGN-35) was a nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser of the United States Navy. She was commissioned on June 27, 1967, and served until her decommissioning on September 26, 1995.

During her service, the Truxtun participated in numerous operations and exercises, including the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and Operation Earnest Will in the Persian Gulf. She also served as a testing and training platform for naval weapon systems.

The ship was named after Thomas Truxtun, a naval officer who served during the Revolutionary War and the Quasi-War with France. She displaced approximately 10,000 tons and had a crew complement of around 530 officers and sailors.

After her decommissioning, the Truxtun was dismantled and scrapped. Her legacy lives on through the many sailors who served on her and the missions she accomplished during her nearly 30 years of service.
